Masters of jazz funk led by Iain Rae of Gallaher & Lyle fame.
A great band with excellent musicians and a superb repertoire of covers and originals from Ian himself.Iain Rae - Piano
Scottish born, Iain Rae has been a professional musician, composer, band leader and music teacher for 35 years. In the 1970’s Iain played keyboards in chart-topping band Gallagher & Lyle, which led to major tours of the U.S., Canada and Europe, plus TV appearances including Top of the Pops. In the early 1980’s Iain toured with Wilco Johnson and blues singer Nicky Moore, and founded critically acclaimed jazz-funk band Hard Lines, “Britain’s leading jazz-funk band” (The Independent). He was awarded touring grants from Jazz South, and toured the UK and France. Band members and guests in Hard Lines have included the cream of British jazz musicians, including Gary Plumbley, Jim Mullen, Tim Whitehead, Derek Nash, Tim Cansfield and Tim Garland. Iain teaches privately and at local schools Sandown Court and Hill View, and has led numerous jazz courses in Southend, financed by Essex County Council. He is much in demand for solo and trio work, and currently working and recording with excellent soul singer Sarah Ward. Iain enjoys working with students and sharing his love of music. Visiting New York as a teenager, and having listened to his jazz heroes nightly in the clubs, the spirit and excitement of live performance remains the challenge and dream to aspire to.

Drew and Ronnie Scott, sadly remembered more for his club than for his
tenor playing. Bill spent many years playing in various bands in the West
